Rimella, Valsesia. A Walser village of 150 inhabitants and a museum that has existed since 1836.
It was founded by Giovanni Battista Filippa, a Napoleonic soldier returning from his travels, with the desire to bring the world to a place the world could barely reach. A Wunderkammer built out of love for a community and the land it inhabited.
Mondo Novo won the FAI Luoghi del Cuore grant together with the Municipality of Rimella to develop a generative valorisation project for this collection. A work of discovery and new storytelling for a place that continues to hold surprises.
In development.
