Silent Echoes

A fragment of silent cinema is reborn as a reflection on authorship in the algorithmic age: five performers, deprived of their director, explore the boundaries between human creation and artificial intelligence while their story is rewritten.

Silent Echoes resurrects five performers from the partially lost Mack Sennett silent comedy “The Divorce Dodger” (1926), reimagining them as digital subjects aware of their hybrid existence between historical film and AI reconstruction.

When their director mysteriously disappears, the characters cross the fourth wall to become protagonists of a story that was never written. Each embodies a different relationship with technology: appropriation, narcissism, multiplication, naive acceptance, resistance.

The film ends where it begins: in an infinite cycle of reimagination where the boundary between human creativity and algorithmic generation collapses without resolving.
